Late Thursday night, January 29, 2026, journalist Don Lemon was arrested by federal authorities for disrupting a church service in Saint Paul, MN earlier this month. THIS SHIT IS NOT NORMAL!
The Cities Church is headed by David Easterwood, who is an ICE field agent. Lemon was arrested with three other activists for protesting the church's connection to the reckless and deadly ICE raids and abductions that have plagued the St. Paul-Minneapolis area for the past month. He was charged by the Justice Department with "federal civil rights crimes". Jill Filipovic writes in Slate how this is a "five-alarm" fire for our country, particularly for journalists, activists, protestors, and anyone who truly upholds our First Amendment rights guaranteed in our constitution, as well as anyone who dares to challenge this emboldened authoritarian regime.
